Weather Matters

We have all been experiencing some pretty awful weather over the last couple of months and it often feels like it will never end. With half the country flooded and no hope of it all drying up anytime soon I’m sure the poor people whose homes have been ruined can find little to be grateful for.

 I try to look at it a little bit differently to see if I can find something good in all the misery. I myself am obviously not affected as I don’t live somewhere like the Somerset Levels or the Thames Valley so it is easy for me to do this.
 

If those flooded out of their homes could possibly find anything at all that they can be grateful for in all of this they may find some comfort and peace within. Universal law says that every action has a reaction so perhaps all the flooding can bring about a positive reaction somewhere down the line.

 

Maybe the government will have a positive reaction to this disaster and make sure that in future the rivers are dredged and better permanent flood defences are put in place. Sometimes it takes disaster to bring about a positive change in both actions and attitudes.

 

This of course will not feel like comfort now, but once everyone is back in their homes and the memories start to fade a little maybe it will. Maybe it will never happen again because someone will react positively to make sure of it.

Let’s all pray that it never happens again but Mother Nature is a powerful force and it isn’t always possible to fight her. Perhaps instead we can work with her and by taking the path of least resistance, just like the flow of a river, can ensure that she may have her way a little without so much devastation.

 

Mother Earth is having a good cleansing all over at the moment and after cleansing comes healing so for that we can all be grateful.

Keep it Simple in 2014

Now the festivities of Christmas and New Year have passed we can get on with the normality of the everyday lives most of us lead.

 

The morning alarm, the commute to work, the school run - all very mundane after the madness of the festive season. I like mundane, it's much more peaceful than all that worrying and rushing round the shops buying food and drink that nobody really needs and searching for that special gift!

 

Let's all take a deep breath in and get back to normality. Let's enjoy the peace and quiet. Let's keep it simple.

 

Our ego loves us to be preoccupied with the complexities of life. It loves us to become involved in the minute details, instructions and rules on how to do this and that because then we are not focussing on our spiritual path.

 

Our ego loves it when we join endless courses and workshops to learn basically what we already know about healing and spirituality. This is because whilst we are forever learning something different, we never actually get to use anything we learn.

 

There are many different spiritual pathways to follow, but the basic premise is the same, the destination is the same, the goal is the same. That goal is to reach God/Source/Creator/Divine Mother, to be able to commune with him/her/it in our prayers and meditations.

 

So keep it simple in 2014 by meditating or contemplating more and you will come to know what the truth is in your own heart.

Typhoon in the Phillipines

Let us send our love and healing thoughts to the poor people who are suffering in the aftermath of this terrible typhoon.

 

Many of the survivors have lost their entire families and I really can't imagine how painful that would be. My family mean everything to me and the thought of losing them all in one go is awful.

 

I feel such compassion for these people and my heart is sending them unconditional love and hopes that they can somehow try to rebuild their lives in the future.

 

They also need our practical help so please give all you can to the appeals around the world. In the UK we have the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) appeal which targets the money to wherever it is needed the most, with only 5% going towards overheads.

 

If you can't afford to give money then just give your thoughts and prayers as these are very effective ways to bring about change in the world.

 

 

Last Quarter of 2013

We are now in the last quarter of 2013 and I can’t believe how quickly the year is passing. Everything seems to have speeded up, which sometimes feels like my life is passing by before my very eyes!
 

I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way, but what a great experience it has been so far. The new energies continue to flood the earth and the feminine energies are really doing a good job in overturning the male dominance that has prevailed for such a long time.

 

Kindness, love and respect is returning to the earth and it is affecting many people and changing the way they perceive the world and others. This is what was needed to bring change to the world and to pave the way to peace.

 

There’s still a long way to go, for many stubbornly stick to the old ways but hopefully they will change their view, change their perception and embrace the new paradigm that exists now on earth.

 

Let’s all move forward now into the new earth without fear, without regrets for past actions, without guilt for what we didn’t do. Love is all that matters now because love is all that’s real.

As Above So Below

We are all familiar with the idea of "As above so below" but I wonder if the world is in alignment with this any more.

 

Most conflict and disagreements around the world seem to be about religion and certain groups trying to force their beliefs onto others. People seem to have a total lack of tolerance for any kind of faith that isn't the same as theirs and I do not understand why.

 

There is only one God, Creator, Source who is known by many names but on earth their are many religions all believing that their way is the only way to reach Him/Her. People fight and kill others in the name of their religion and say they are doing it in the name of God.

 

God loves us all as his children and does not distinguish between religions. God knows nothing about religions because they don't exist in His/Her consciousness ("above").

 

Organised religion is not required to contact God or to be loved by God. I understand that many like to go to church or mosque or synagogue or whatever to enjoy coming together in praise of God but much more tolerance of other religions is needed. Your way really is no better than other ways. Your beliefs are no more valid than others' beliefs.

 

We are all contected as one consciousness ("below") and when we remember that there is only God and Us we can understand the true meaning of "As above so below".

 

Ancient Yew Trees

I love yew trees. They seem to call to me and I feel a deep connection with them on a soul level.

There is recent evidence that ancient yew trees once thought to be several hundred years old could be over a thousand years old. It has been found that they can regenerate even when they appear to be dying.

Yew trees are able to grow new roots inside their old decaying trunks which grow down into the earth. When the old trunk finally disintegrates, a new multi-stemmed tree is revealed.

It is thought that some of these multi-stemmed trees could even account for a number of clusters of yew trees that can be found in parts of Britain. There are many multi-stemmed trees that are themselves hundreds of years old, which grew from a single yew tree that was over a thousand years old.

These ancient majestic trees are probably older than most of the churchyards in which they grow. They have stood guard over the graves of our ancestors for many hundreds of years and some are so old they were there before the churches. In fact it is thought that some churches were built next to yew trees that were already growing in that place.

Long before churches existed, our ancestors recognised yew trees as sacred and divine. They knew that yew trees have always been here and always would be here. They would have prayed and held ceremonies under the yew trees and buried their dead, knowing that the graves would always be protected by these magnificent tree people.

 

 

 
We humans, the animal, mineral and plant kingdoms are all connected, we are all one. The native Americans believed this and referred to the different kingdoms as the two legged people, four legged people, winged people, fin people, stone people and tree people.

The native Americans talked about the coming of the “rainbow tribe” (red, black, white, yellow skinned people) and honoured “all our relations” (from the past and the future). They knew that whatever we may appear to be on the outside is not who we are in reality.

We are great souls, we are divine. When we go within to that quiet space in our hearts, we can recognise our true reality, who we really are. We can honour our true selves and honour the divine soul inside everyone we meet in our physical life.

The Way To Peace

Why do we think that we can achieve peace by starting wars? This always comes to mind when an existing conflict is escalated into a full-blown war by the intervention of other countries in the name of peace.

The innocent men, women and children caught up in the crossfire between rival factions are the ones needing our help. Missile attacks in an effort to knock out one or other of these factions won’t work.

All that will happen is an escalation of the violence and those poor innocents in the middle are the ones who will come off worse. We all know from previous conflicts what happens when so-called targeted attacks go off target . Yes the innocent ones are the ones who pay with their lives.

Peace can only be achieved when everyone in the world loves each other. To do this we have to first love ourselves and when we love ourselves we will find it easy and natural to love everyone else.

The only way to peace is love.

Manifesting Peace

Let’s all send out love and light to the areas of conflict around the world and particulary to the middle-east at this time.

We may think that there is nothing much we personally can do to improve these situations as governments never listen to ordinary people. There may be nothing we can do physically but we can meditate, go within and just keep sending out love and light.
 

While doing this we can also visualise these areas of conflict as areas of peace instead and actually try to feel them as areas of peace. The stronger our visualisations and the more real our feelings that these are areas of peace, the more chance there is that we will be able to manifest our thoughts into a new reality.

The Fear Factor

The world governments continue to try and keep us in the grip of fear with the notification that many foreign embassies are closing for several days in the middle-east. They say that this is due to “credible” intelligence reports that there has been increased communications between terrorist groups in Yemen and Pakistan.

Then they tell us that they have foiled a plot by some Al Qaida-linked group to blow something up but is this true? Or is it just that they need to crank up the fear factor to keep us all in that state of always expecting a terrorist attack to happen any minute? To keep us all living in fear instead of living the happy peaceful lives we all can have and deserve.

If we continually send out these negative thought forms we will simply attract more fear. We must not buy into these devisive stories all the time and must recognise that not all muslims are terrorists and that not all Christians live like saints.

We have to try see the love in everyone. If we learn to recognise love in others and give love, then love is what we will receive. Only once we are all on the same wavelength can we expect the arrival of the long awaited Aquarian age of world peace.
